How to be a sculpture

Writing an essay about how to be a statua

December 2016

Writers residence Arte Studio Ginestrelle, Assisi, Italy

In the heart of history of the Western sculpture, I want to concentrate for a correspondence.
A personal treatise on the position of the sculpture in our digital world.

I believe that, especially in this century, we need sculpture more than ever. It is magical to experience that the material has been transformed into reality and that you can stand in front of it and walk around it. It tells something about our human existence. You can feel connected to it, your senses are stimulated, especially the tactility.
You can trust it sincerely. A sculpture never stands alone, it manifests itself in the environment. There is always communication because masses meet.
In our time we live in a digital period, economically controlled. "Things" have degenerated. I want to find out what the position of the sculpture is in our time.
I want to be the writing hand of the sculpture and correspond with artists, scientists, curators.

Of course there will also be an exhibition with this theme. I have two options for truly inspiring locations.
